Anna Tompkins is the nonferrous commercial director, Mid Atlantic, for Sims Metal. She has 20 years’ experience in the metals industry and started her career as a scrap buyer for Montgomery Scrap Corp.

After a 2007 merger with United Iron & Metal, Atlantic Recycling Group (ARG) was formed, with Anna serving in a variety of roles from marketing director to vice president. In 2022, Sims Metal acquired ARG.

Anna is an active member of the Association of Women in the Metal Industries (AWMI), currently serving a two-year term as vice president. She previously served as the international marketing chair and as the president of the AWMI Baltimore chapter. In 2020, she was recognized as AWMI’s Member of the Year.

Anna received her B.S in journalism from West Virginia University and resides with her family in Baltimore.
