Tim Ridderbos
General Manager of Circular, Shapiro Metals
Tim is a native of St. Louis, where he still lives and works. He attended Trinity Christian College, earning a B.A. in business and economics.
Tim began learning about the recycled materials industry while working as a territory manager for a Caterpillar equipment dealership and selling machines to recycling companies. He attended his first recycling event in 2017 because his customer, Shapiro Metals, also was attending. Shortly thereafter, he was recruited by Shapiro and began his sustainability journey as a national account manager, then director of national accounts, and now serves as the general manager of Circular by Shapiro.
Tim works with the Shapiro team to build recycling and sustainability programs for multilocation industrial manufacturers stretching from Richmond, Virginia, to Portland, Oregon, and from Montreal, Canada, to Monterrey, Mexico. The Circular team is responsible for creating millions of dollars in additional revenue and savings for its customers while diverting thousands of tons of material from landfills.
He holds a Certificate of Corporate Innovation and Sustainability and is pursuing a masters in sustainability from the Harvard Extension School.
