Michael J. Boyle has been president of Owl’s Head Alloys Inc. (OHA) since joining the firm in January 2020. He also serves on the company’s board of directors.

Michael has amassed a deep and wide knowledge of the aluminum business over nearly 34 years in progressive roles. He has worked on the shop floor as a first line supervisor and held many roles all the way to the boardroom.

He joined OHA after seven years with Alcoa. Prior to the 2016 separation of Alcoa and Arconic, he led the Alcoa global scrap strategy and operations for North America, Europe, Brazil, China, Australia and Russia. These various roles have led to expertise in metal procurement, hedging, energy, supply chain management, sales and marketing, labor negotiations, operations, leadership management and strategic endeavors.

Michael also has held specific roles within primary smelters, rolling mills (direct chill and continuous casting), cast houses (billet and rolling slabs), extrusions, trading, consulting and secondary smelting.

Michael graduated from Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio, in 1987 with a dual BA in accounting and management. Upon graduation, he worked at Marathon Oil and various pipeline subsidiaries for three years before joining the aluminum industry in 1990.
